Former fat girl, she became a spokesperson for ProGym Serge Moreau in December 2003. Freelance Health & Fitness writer as well as translator, Josie has written many articles for the Canadian market.

Her goals include giving out information about healthy weight loss as well as scientific research behind sports supplementation, products and exercises to give fitness lovers the key information they really need.

My weight odyssey began in 1998, right before my fiancé and I separated. Previously, I had been in a rather good shape. I was well toned from plenty of gymnastic and a healthy lifestyle. Before the end of that relationship, I stopped exercising and gained 80 pounds… in 8 months. I had allowed my body to get out of control weight-wise. My self-esteem was almost nonexistent.

I stayed at an unhealthy 216 pounds for almost 3 years before deciding to make a change.

Challenge # 1 was adding exercise to my already busy life. I started going to the gym after work with a friend of mine. For almost 8 months, the gym was my priority. I even refused invitations to go out. After a while I realized that having friends and a life was equally important as being in shape. I had to make a change.

This is where I started working out in the morning, at first waking up at 5:30 AM was horrible, I literally had to drag myself to the gym; the first “workout” was basically getting up to hit the snooze button but I slowly got used to it. Morning workouts increased my metabolism throughout the day. The best side of working out in the morning was the rush and feeling of accomplishment that stayed with me all day long.
